Psalm 73~
How difficult it is to avoid envying and being tempted to emulate, the evil people who have everything, even good health, while the good people suffer in pain and poverty.

Psalm 72
A prayer of Solomon while David was still King~

Give your love of justice to the king, O God,
and righteousness to the king's son.
Help him judge your people properly,
so the poor are treated fairly.

Help him to defend the poor,
and rescue the children of the needy.
May their oppressors fear You.

May the king's rule be as refreshing
as spring rain on freshly cut grass,
and like the showers that water the earth.

May the righteous flourish during his reign.
May there be abundant prosperity.

He will rescue the poor when they cry to him.
He will protect the defenseless oppressed.
He feels pity for the weak and needy,
and he will rescue them.

He redeems the powerless from oppression and violence,
for their lives are precious to him.

Long Live the King!

May his people pray for him and bless him each day.
May all nations be blessed through him and praise him.

Praise the Lord God, who does such wonderful things!

Psalm 73
A Psalm of Asaph~

My feet were slipping and I was almost gone,
for I envied the proud,
when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness ,
They seem to live such painless lives
Their bodies are so healthy and strong ,
They don't have troubles like other people ,
They are not plagued with problems like everyone else.else.
They have all their hearts could desire.
They wear pride like a jeweled necklace .
They robe temselves in cruelty. ,
They have all their hearts could desire.
They scoff and speak only evil.
In their pride they seek to crush others.. ,
They boast against the very heavens.
They confuse and dismay the people. ,
who drink in all their words.
that strut throughout the world.
"What does God know?" they ask. ,
"Does the Most High even know what's happening?".

Look at all these wicked people, enjoying a life of ease while their riches multiply..

Did I keep my heart pure for nothing?.
Did I keep myself innocent for no reason?.
I get trouble all day long and every morning brings me pain.

Then I went to your sanctuary, O God,
and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked.
You have them on a slippery slope to their destruction..

My health may fail, but God remains the strength of my spirit.
