Survive in Modern Business?

PRIDE in integrity.
GREED for the maximum.
FEAR of the consequences

Our own new species appeared some 36,000 years ago as hunter-gatherer families in the Ice Age caves, with a gift for painting animals on the cave walls.

As the weather warmed, we became nomadic herds-people. For our seasonal gathering places, we built structures of skillfully fashioned gigantic stones.

When we settled in villages to do farming, we developed the commerce and trades that grew into cities and civilizations.

There was a morality for living with family and neighbors, supported by the religious belief system of the community.

This morality rarely extended beyond the community. The Ten Commandments instructed to love one's neighbor, but did not address the genicidal wars between the tribes in their walled city kingdoms..

As widespread commerce developed, there had to be ethical business practices that applied everywhere, but this has now broken down at all levels.

In our diverse communities, organized religion no longer has the power to enforce its traditional morality, and the communities can no longer enforce morals and ethics with social pressure and laws..

This has allowed freedom for diversity, to which there is opposition by those whose position of unified dominance is threatened.

The size and complexity of the widespreead modern business world has created anonymous unaccountability in which greed has destroyed the ethics of behavior on which the widespread system of commerce wwith its complex supply chains depends.

The breakdown of pride in integrity and ethics in business began with out-sourcing and with the selling of famous brand names, with no quality control or responsibility for the safety of the products.

Google sells its listings. Amazon sells dangerous and counterfeit products. The stock market is a casino benefiting the manipulators. Banks use scams to steal from depositors, and launder drug money. The banks move the managers around so the depositors won't identify them with their lost money

With the pandemic, public trust was essential for survival. But the President and his associates misused that trust to convince the public the coronavirus was a hoax designed to trick them, and only duped fools took precautions. Then, as the uncontrolled virus they fostered ravaged the country, they tried to overthrow the election and create a dictatorship.
