God gives the wise their wisdom
and scholars their knowledge.
To them He reveals
deep and mysterious things.

Which Heaven Do You Want?

Jesus said heaven was for the humble who were the servants of all, and that to enter heaven we must become as little children.

People later have promised a heaven with glory and crowns and a place of honor at God's banqueting table, which are the things of worldly pride and worldly power.

The glory they promise is celebrity. The crowns they promise are royalty.

I have witnessed the personal lives of media celebrities and of a royal family that had absolute power, and those people had no peace of mind and no happiness, they just survived day to day preserving their public image and their control of power.

Royalty and celebrities are the victims of an exploitive media that makes their profit from building them up and then tearing them down, and the slaves of a fickle public that takes great pleasure in the destruction of the human idols they envy.

I found true happiness and joy in being the servant looking after the needs of the members of a symphony orchestra and in preserving their performances with modern technology. It was a joy to hear my name called out in the auditorium and know there was something they needed that I could do.

So, I would like my heaven to be what Jesus promised, and be a happy child with helpful things to do.
