Appreciation of Our Gifts
There is much in life we do not have the gift to create or accomplish. It is equally a gift to appreciate things we cannot do ourself, and to admire without envy, the things others can do, or can do better than we can.
Scripture says there are many different abilities that that are given to many different people.
The key to contentment is to appreciate, enhance, and enjoy the abilities we do have.
Abilities are valued by the world acording to their need at the moment. and by how much other people value them.
The Holy Spirit values equally all the abilities it gives. The only judgement is how well these gifts are used.
In the parble of the three servants, the two who used well the talents they were entrusted with are praised. There is only condemnation for the man who stored safely away the talent he was given.
One of the very important jobs we have as family, teachers and friends is to reveal and encourage the talents that young people have.
The only thing IQ tests test is the ability to take IQ tests. There are myriad marvelous ailities that are ignored by IQ tests and not given their proper value and importance in young lives and are lost.
Every child has its own gifts from the Holy Spirit, waiting to be revealed and encouraged. It is up to you to reveal and encourage those gifts in children, and in people of all ages
